Human ability and sensitivity are the bases for our finishes that give each piece a centain beauty. Slinht variations of colours are the results of manual operations and these can be even greater in pieces produced at different times.

We can divide the finishes into three broad categories: POLISHING, VARNISHING and GILDING.

POLISHING: this consists in spreading the wood with transparent or slightly coloured protective substances so as to enhances so as to enhance the natural colour. The wood may also have been previously dyed with colours imitating different essences. The colourings are water-based.

VARNISHING: a leyer of uniform and covering varnish, of the desired colour, is put on as a premier. This procedure offers an infinite range of colours and plenty of room for customising. Surfaces can be aged using cracking, coating or brushing. The tops of furniture and tables can be decorated with handmade flower motifs and the carved details can be emphasised by spray colours (polychromy). It is advisable not to choose varnishing on furniture with briar or marquetry.

GILDING: it consists in the application of extra thin gold, silver or copper sheets on special primers or bases. Various egeing effects can be obtained by means of dark coatings and brushings.
